Time Logging with TFS

I can only assume that any development shop using Visual Studio 2010 has an entirely separate application for logging hours. While developing an application isn't trivial, the existing third party tools are nothing like what exists for a dozen other legacy programs used in the development world.

Why would software development companies want to log time in a system that is removed from their software development work? Perhaps the greater concern is getting hours into the accounting system correctly and so they require users, including developers, to log time in randomtimeapp.com and complete a text field to tie their labor to the CR, Task, or Project.

But then, if you're doing anything with burndown or managing your resources in any other way, you've got to reach out to that application, or require double entry.

The option is almost too horrible to contemplate: tracking hours in MS Project. True, MS Project is the quintessential agile development tool, but it might(!) have limitations for tracking hours for dev shops.

My quest continues for a tool that handles time loggin.
